PLN, PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS & DIGITAL IDENTITY

Digital Identity

In today’s society, with the gradual development of Internet technology, digital identity has gradually entered people’s lives and gained a crucial role in it. Today, I would like to present some personal views on digital identity based on my knowledge and discussions with the panelists.

First, it’s really significant to know the specific meaning of digital identity. From the videos, I know that a digital identity is your presents online, you post, you share, how you engage, how you treat other people, and how you use digital tools. It can be also defined as the interests of the people you work with or teach, your foot on the web, your search volume, your workload, your portfolio, and your blog. Everything you do on the web can present your digital identity. Digital identity is the eye of the current physical identity document (e.g. driver’s license, passport, etc.). It provides individuals with more privacy and control over their information while eliminating the threats associated with physical IDs. Digital identity can make life easier and faster without the worry of losing physical documents. You can essentially use a digital identity anywhere, anytime.

Digital identity allows for more professional use of social media, which exposes whether you have a lifelong passion for learning like an innate curiosity. With a personal and professional approach to digital identity, you can see the information you want to see, such as seeing how others are growing and how they are adapting to new environments. Personal and professional digital identity allows people to quickly communicate their thoughts with others, even across great distances, and easily and promptly from country to country. We can get a lot of pleasure from it and share our life with everyone.

Digital identity will not only affect social media, but also converge in networked publics. Over 60% of the GDP is expected to be digitized by 2022. More and more people will discuss topics or communicate through business devices and online interactions. Digital identities are inclusive and can bring people from different walks of life together. The quality of digital identity allows people to access a range of useful opportunities in their lives. Digital identity is one of the cornerstones of the mathematical economy, and every digital service that has legal consequences or commercial value requires a secure digital identity. Digital identity can make people’s lives faster and more convenient, for example, in uvic we can also use the app-Vikes Active to enter the carsa stadium directly using a swipe code, so that we don’t need to carry one card. The economic impact of digital identity on countries is very high, ranging from 3% to 13% of the GDP of these countries. Digital identity can improve the efficiency of public services, the lack of ID cards has led to a lot of fraud and other negative actions in India, the rise of digital identity can reduce the incidence of crime. Digital identity is also linked to the financial system, which can be associated with bank accounts and allow people to benefit from them.

These are some of my thoughts about digital identity, and you are welcome to join me in discussing this topic. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

PLN & Public Communications

A personal Learning Network is a way of describing the group of people that you connect with to learn their ideas, their questions, their reflections, and their preferences. In a highly digital society, people have a close relationship with the web, both online and offline.

The significance of the network that social media has created is that it allows people to become more connected. People can express themselves online and discuss things of interest together. This inevitably has a good impact and brings some rewards. People who publish papers get money. People who watch papers get valuable information and learn from them. However, it can also lead to some risks to public communication, such as malicious rumors and cyber violence by people who are not governed by the Internet. We need to find out the truth and know whether it is true or not. We can’t follow the wrong trend blindly.

Our learning of PLN can be from childhood to old age. It can benefit us throughout our lives, and can be reflected in emerging technologies, climate change, and developing our networking skills and digital literacy, respectively. It can be seen that these can benefit us a lot and these are more than enough to show the importance of PLN learning. I would like to talk about my concept of PLN learning here. With the advancement and development of technology, it is very convenient for us to search for materials online for learning. I think that personal e-learning is very diverse nowadays and we can learn through various apps such as YouTuBe, university websites, books, and lectures by university professors.

These are my preliminary knowledge and understanding of PLN, if you have ideas or objections, please leave a comment and discuss them with me.
